Best Materials for Sofas and Recliners

Sofas and recliners are two of the best furniture items that provide comfort and rest. However, when poorly made, they can give you a backache instead of easing it.

The quality of a sofa or quality recliner relies heavily on the type of materials used. Things like strength, stain resistance, toughness, and cost are some of the factors that need to be considered before purchasing one. The materials used in sofas and recliners can be divided into two groups – Natural and Synthetics.

The Natural Materials have been popular with many users because of the amazing comfort it brings. The following are considered natural materials:

  • Leather – This material is strong, easy to clean, and has a nice texture. You just have to avoid bringing it close to sharp objects because it easily gets punctured.
  • Cotton – This is cool and soft to the skin but not as durable as the synthetic products.
  • Linen – The material gives a feeling almost the same as that of the cotton. This is great for pieces of furniture intended for children.

On the other hand, Synthetics allow people to manufacture products quickly. Here are some examples of synthetic pieces:

  • Microfiber – This is fine polyester that is strong and easy to clean.
  • Faux Leather – Synthetic leather is a poorer version of the real leather.
  • Chenille – Chenille is elegant in looks. However, the quality can hardly be compared with any natural material.

These materials have their own advantages and disadvantages. What you choose will depend on your budget. However, if budget is not a problem to you, then natural materials are highly recommended.
